Sustainable Christmas Crafting

Sustainable Christmas Crafting
Sustainable Christmas CraftingDec 3rd | Sandison Hall, St Fillans

Dear Villagers

Andrea, Terry, Evey, Ruth, Hilary and Marie Claire from Remake would be delighted if lots of villagers could come along and support our “Sustainable Christmas Crafting” event coming up next Sunday, 3rd December from 2-5pm at Sandison Hall.

This will be the first of many events we will be organising as part of our new Community Interest Company (new name and logo to follow-watch this space) to help spread the love for our planet to as many people as possible. Using all unwanted, surplus, used and natural materials, we will spend the afternoon making all things Christmassy from the resources available. We will come armed with ideas and templates, but you can let your imagination run riot and make anything you fancy. It promises to be fun for all the family!

Example handmade items:

  • Christmas cards
  • Hanging decorations
  • Tea-light holders
  • Table decorations
  • Christmas crackers
  • Origami Christmas trees
  • Christmas wreaths
  • Decorated jars/bottles for candles or floral displays
  • Stars
  • Gift boxes
  • Bird feeders

The list is endless really.

We are not asking for an entrance fee or formal bookings, but an email expressing interest would be good for catering purposes. We will have collection buckets and a card machine so that you can make donations instead for materials and refreshments to help cover the costs. Any surplus will go towards future events.

Donated items we would be extremely grateful for, include:

  • Christmassy biscuits or cake
  • Bits of ribbon, coloured string, twine or wire
  • Buttons and beads
  • Pretty foliage, little sticks, pinecones from your garden or from a walk
  • Pieces of paper or card, including wrapping paper
  • Small jars and unusually shaped bottles and jars
  • Paints (any types)
  • Glue, tapes and scissors.

Just label any items that you would like back at the end of the day.

This event is also an opportunity for us to chat to people about the new company and what we hope to achieve, so feel free just to pop in for a cuppa and chat.

Oh, and there may be mulled wine, but there will definitely be Christmas tunes ðŸ˜Š

To find out more or express an interest in coming along, please either phone or WhatsApp Andrea on 07960 391297 or email Evey at [email protected]
