Crieff Folk Club presents Strathearn Song Circle

Thursday 3rd November 2022 | 7.30pm | Tickets: £8

Join local traditional singer Naomi Harvey for a song workshop teaching in Scots & Gaelic followed by an informal session where you will be encouraged to share songs. No need to speak Gaelic (or Scots!), songs suitable for beginners and experienced.

Doors open 7pm. BYOB.

Downton Abbey: A New Era (PG) with a talk by Hannah Spearing

From award-winning creator, Julian Fellowes comes the motion picture event Downton Abbey: A New Era. The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.

Beads, beads and more beads - moments as a maker’ a talk by Hannah Spearing.

This talk by Hannah Spearing, who in 2014, started working for the costume designer Anna Robbins on series 5 of Downton Abbey. Following on from this, Hannah continued to do series 6, as well as the next 2 films. Join us for a behind the scenes look at some of the work that goes into these period costumes, and how a combination of old and new pieces make for a perfect outfit. Hannah is now a costume maker specialising in vintage details and lives locally in St Fillans. Hannah's talk will start at 6.30pm sharp with doors open for the talk at 6.00pm. Downton Abbey: The New Era will screen at 7.30pm.

Afternoon Tea Dance

Cézanne: Portraits of a Life (PG)

Exhibition on Screen brings you one of its most successful ever films, dedicated to the life and work of Paul Cézanne. Filmed at the National Portrait Gallery in London, with additional interviews from experts and curators from MoMA in New York, National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, and Musée d’Orsay in Paris, with correspondence from the artist himself, the film takes audiences to the places Cézanne lived and worked and sheds light on an artist who is perhaps one of the least known and yet most important of all the Impressionists.

Paul Pritchard Talk

Legendary rock climber, Paul Pritchard, will be back in his native UK in November, for a rare visit from Australia where he now lives. The evening will include a mix of slides and film with readings from his latest book The Mountain Path.
