Manifesto for Rural Scotland
What would be in your Manifesto for rural Scotland?
Scottish Rural Action is aiming to hold the country's biggest ever conversation on rural issues this year with a campaign to write a manifesto for rural Scotland launched last week.
For anyone who lives, works, visits or owns their own business in and around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are being encouraged to attend a regional event jointly hosted by the Community Partnership, Scottish Rural Action and the National Park Authority on the 28th April 4 pm to 7 pm at the NP HQ in Balloch.
This event is part of a series being held all across rural Scotland for places as far apart as Shetland to the Borders, Isle of Eigg to Angus. An online consultation will open on the same day and is open for two months.
The campaign will culminate with debates on the manifesto at the Scottish Rural Parliament in October 2016, before participants vote to adopt the document. Scottish Rural Action will use the final manifesto to promote the view of rural communities throughout Scotland to decision-makers at all levels of government.
SRA Chair Amanda Burgauer said "The manifesto will bring together the views and ambitions of people from all parts of rural Scotland and be a powerful tool for change. We are being supported by partners to deliver our ambition of holding the biggest ever conversation on rural issues, and collating information from many sources to write a manifesto which reflects the real needs of all of the people who live in our diverse rural communities".
Guests to the event on the 28th April will receive complimentary refreshments and a light meal, so booking your FREE place is strongly recommended by contacting
