Cera Impala & the New Prohibition with Lake MontgomeryMar 14th | Comrie Rural Hall

Hello there
We are delighted that Cera has agreed to come back to Comrie and we know that those who have listened to her music and witnessed her performances previously will be queuing at the door to see her again. She will be performing with two lineups - as a trio, The New Prohibition featuring Dirk Ronneburg and Joel Sanderson, and in a duo, Delightful Squalor with Lake Montgomery. This will be a very special night.

Cera is a beautiful charismatic and wild banjo-wielding mama from Flagstaff, Arizona who has toured across both the USA and Europe. A magnetic song-smith with a voice both timeless and unique, her compositions spin genuine and intimate yarns. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays ukelele, guitar, and her very own brand of hard-driving clawhammer banjo.

Cera is joined by the musical talents of her husband, Dirk Ronneburg, on the fiddle (better known as Dr. Dirk of gypsy jazz group, Viper Swing) and Joey "Jello" Sanderson on double bass to form THE NEW PROHIBITION, whose vibe can only be defined as “a slice of hillbilly noir and a measure of gritty 20's and 30's jazz”. The trio bring a synergy that can only be achieved from performing together for years. The harmonious tones between them are palpable- their music, otherworldly.

Delightful Squalor is a way of life; a celebration of 'less is more', a sweet and savoury something to fill your heart with song and light. An authentic American duet, Cera and Lake provide honeyed harmonies you can hope to taste with original songs, jazz blues and folk to help you forget a world gone mad. Guitar, 5 string banjo and ukulele in hand, they craft songs that feel timeless; songs to help sooth your daydreams along a road of country blues, gospel, folk and old time jazz.

Don't miss this!

We will be back in our lovely wee revamped Rural Hall for most of the gigs, where there is a maximum of 80 seats so don't delay on getting tickets when they are announced.
