You are cordially invited to the Official Opening of Phase 3 of the Loch Earn Railway Path Project at St Fillans.

Location:            The Old Railway Tunnel, St Fillans

Times:                14.30hrs - Thank You’s

                            14.45hrs - ‘Cut the Ribbon’ - Cecil Smylie (Chair, St Fillans Community Trust)

                            15.00hrs - Walk or Cycle to the ‘Crocodile’ and back (optional)

                            from 15.15hrs to 17.00hrs – Tea/Coffee/Biscuits at the Four Seasons Hotel

                            (The Four Seasons Hotel is a short walk west from the tunnel, with direct access from the new section of the Loch Earn Railway Path.)

 

Transport:                      Walk or Cycle from Comrie – 6 miles (maybe allow 1hr for cycling and 2.5hrs for walking?):

                                        Leaving Comrie on the A85 towards St Fillans, turn left over the Ross Bridge and then immediately right to take the ‘back road’ to Dalchonzie. Just before re-joining the A85, turn left on to the Railway Path, signposted to Kindrochet and St Fillans. Follow the path to Tynreoch and continue under the A85. This leads all the way to the top of Station Road in St Fillans  Turn left down between the bridge abutments and then immediately right on to the new section of the Loch Earn Railway Path. Follow this for about 600m to the Tunnel.

(Please remember to shut gates.)

Bus from Comrie – 15A

13.25 at Dalginross, arrives 13.40 at the junction with Station Road, St Fillans (10 minute walk).

Return to Comrie – 15A

16.35 from the terminus at the Four Seasons Hotel, arrives 16.50 back in Comrie.

Limited parking at the Four Seasons Hotel and in nearby public lay-by (8 minute walk from here).
